GEMMA :
My name is Gemma Clarke, I am the founder and head therapist of GC Sports Therapy. I hold a BSc (Hons) Degree in Sports & exercise Science, along with ITEC Diploma in Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy. I have been qualified as a Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist for seven years, and have worked in a wide range of environments to help gain maximum experience that has enabled me to create and build GC Sports Therapy.
I created this business, as through my own experience, I know how its feels to feel pain, discomfort, aches, restriction in movement, injuries, psychologically and physically drained, and so much more, and to feel nothing would help. I use to play football for Coventry City Ladies, and competed at a high level, along with being generally active including running, gym work, and general day-to-day life. So my body took a beating once in a while from all I had done from a young age, but nothing seemed to help me recover or relax and get back into good condition physically and psychologically. Until I received a Sports Massage Treatment, this for me worked amazingly physically and psychologically, where nothing else for me personally worked, this is when I felt so much interest in learning what does this do? how does it work? why does this treatment help? and therefore I knew I wanted to help those who were also in need and wanted to feel the benefits i felt from this type of treatment and other treatments alike which led me to find ways of introducing remedial massage to work along with sports massage, creating a great combination between the two, and still to be able to reach the benefits needed.
EMMA:
My name is Emma Hubbard, I am a trained and qualified in providing Sports & Remedial Massage. I have spent over 2 years working in a Spa environment and hold a C&G Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Beauty and Spa Therapy, along with ITEC Diploma Level 3 in Sports Massage.
During my spa training I found a passion for the massage aspect of my work and following a personal injury was further drawn to sports massage, especially after meeting Gemma Clarke professionally, the founder of GC Sports Therapy.
From a young age I trained as a dancer and studied ballet, tap, modern, jazz, acro and pointe work, achieving a high standard in each discipline. This led to many performances on stage and at times pushed my body to its limit so I can personally appreciate the recovery value massage can provide. I don't dance now as much as I used to but in my spear time I still like to attend regular aerial classes.
